The European Union has recently integrated the already existing environmental regulations with the Directive 2010/75/EU, clearly defining the parameters and conditions that industrial activities with a high potential for pollution are required to comply with, and also defining the procedures and authorization requirements.
The objective is to avoid or minimize pollutant emissions into air, water and soil, in order to achieve a high health and environment protection level.
For these reasons, any industrial installation that deals with the activities listed in the Annex to the Directive, including plants for the production of bituminous conglomerates, must comply with, among others, the following key obligations:
- take all measures to prevent pollution;
- apply the best available techniques (BAT);
- do not cause any significant pollution phenomenon.
